Objective and Expected Result of the Dialogue

  • To examine and situate the current and future peacekeeping operations in Africa within the context and realities of the global discourse and changing global world order
  • To explore ways to design and structure more effective and efficient peacekeeping operations on the continent in the coming decades.
  • To interrogate the interface between the critical role of host nations, local communities and peacekeeping operations.

Expected Results

  • Better understanding of the changing context dynamics of anticipated future peacekeeping missions in Africa in general and the Horn of Africa in particular;
  • A better understanding of global discussions with regional realities
  • Identify strategies to align future peacekeeping missions with the existing the urge for reviewing of peace operations and Action for Peacekeeping (A4P) initiativen the Horn of Africa
  • A better understanding of theritical role of host nations and local communities in supporting the success of the peacekeeping mandate.
